Khalil Gibran School offers a curriculum that inspires and challenges all learners and prepares them for the future. Khalil Gibran’s aim is to develop a coherent curriculum that builds on young people’s experiences in the primary phase and that helps all young people to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

We aim for all KGS to become literate and articulate communicators. In all subjects, pupils are taught to express themselves correctly and appropriately written and orally, as well as to read accurately and with understanding. Pupils are taught to use Standard English. In writing, pupils are taught to use correct spelling and punctuation and follow grammatical conventions. Pupils are taught to aid revision by using strategies of how to retain information long-term for deep understanding.

  • Students are also taught to develop numeracy when opportunities arise by using mental mathematics, basic mathematical formulae, tables and graphs as well as estimates and calculations.
  • All subjects taught have a duty to ensure appropriate compliance with Health and Safety guidelines, but specific responsibilities lie with science and physical education. When working with tools, equipment and materials, in practical activities and in different environments.
